Don’t regret for your mistakes

Richard Branson | Founder, Virgin Group

Richard Branson is one of those greatest  influencers  you should be following to gain some inspiration and guidance for every aspect of your career. Here, we share his brief, a valuable knowledge for both your career and business development.

Known as one of the most successful entrepreneurs today, Richard Branson has been in business since before 1970. As founder of Virgin Group, Branson has built an impressive net worth of over $5 billion dollars.

Richard Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic performance. He struggled in school and dropped out at age 16. So, his first successful business venture was at 16 years old, in the form of a magazine named Student – which may sound ironic as he dropped out of high school the same year. This decision ultimately lead to the creation of his company called Virgin Records. His company was called Virgin because of his initial inexperience in business.

An interesting fact to mention that as a very young man out of concern for his lack of curiosity and adventure, Branson’s mother left him alone in the countryside one day, with instructions to find his own way home.

His entrepreneurial projects started in the music industry and expanded into other sectors making Branson a billionaire. His Virgin Group holds more than 400 companies, including the recent Virgin Galactic, a space-tourism company.

His all-time favourite advice is: “Never look back in regret –  move on to the next thing.” This is what his mother told him. He says instead of wasting your time dwelling on failures, put that energy into another project. “I have fun running all the Virgin businesses – so a setback is never a bad experience, just a learning curve.”
